Here's what's going on. I currently live with / rent from a wonderful Military Family here in Colorado Springs Colorado. I have been renting from them since June 2025 to present day (6 months). My Landlord just shared with me that he and his family are P.C.Sing (military lingo for relocating) to the East Coast and they need to deploy by this coming March 2026. I'm looking now for another different place to rent - preferably a basement with a private entrance (also open to a good sized bedroom, good size closet, with attached full bathroom) and be moved in by this coming February 1st 2026 (but no later than this coming March 1st 2026) but, I prefer February 1st 2026. Of course, you'll be able to contact my current Landlord to verify all this as well as to ask about me as a tenant.
I currently live at the cross streets of Hancock Expressway & Chelton Road (80916) plus I work out of the Colorado Springs Colorado Airport (80916) so, I'll be looking for a basement as mentioned above (or room as mentioned above) to rent as close to the COS CO Airport as possible.
I'm a person of 3's so I'll be narrowing down my search to just 3 residential homes owned by 3 different residential homeowners here in Colorado Springs Colorado and I'll end up choosing the one that's the best fit to live in and signing a lease and putting money down through CashApp, Venmo or Zelle.
My max monthly rent budget which I can afford just for me is $800.00 per month. My max one-time refundable deposit is $800.00 (which I hope could be paid off in 3 monthly payments after moving in). I hope you as the Landlord would be ok with it if we put together our own lease (I can provide a lease which I found through Google which can be edited by hand with pencil on the spot for changes). But we can figure all that out.
I’m looking for just the right Landlord who wants or could use the additional monthly money but is not in debt, desperate and doesn't need the money or the money just goes towards vacations or hobbies. I'm only interested in renting in someone's residential home or townhouse owned by them (you the Landlord) preferably living there as well (no apartments because apartment complexes don't allow their renters to rent rooms out).
I'm also not going to be providing any sensitive information like Social Security numbers etc., which could result in identity theft. I'm also not going to be paying for any background checks as I have found that most Landlord's running background checks which tenants have to pay for are scammers.
In addition to me being retired three times (military, the school system and social security), I also work for a well-known car rental company three days each week on Tuesdays, Wednesdays & Thursdays delivering cars to their individual branches. I have a total of 3 individual verifiable direct deposited permanent monthly incomes for the rest of my life so, I'll have no problem paying rent each month and on time. I have various professional / personal references available upon request. I'm 100% debt free as of 2019. I can pay rent each month through either CashApp, Venmo or Zelle where all three are fast, and act as their own proof of receipt.
I own my own reliable transportation which is always regularly maintained by a local professional mechanic specialty shop so that I don't need to use public / Uber transportation or ask anyone for rides. No offence but, I'm not a taxi or any kind of Uber / Lyft myself so, I expect my Landlord to have their own reliable form/s of transportation as well.
I'm not willing to share a bedroom or a bathroom in a basement (especially if it's a bedroom with attached bathroom). If however, it is a basement, the washer and dryer can-not be in the basement which everyone in the home uses because if I'm living in a basement, I will require 100% safety and privacy. The basement (or room) does not need to be furnished, however, it's a plus if it is and if a garage is available for only my Jeep (but not required) which would also be included in the rent. If a garage is not available for my Jeep, that's ok as long as there's ample legal unlimited overnight street parking where HMO rules will not be an issue and as long as there's also no 'do not park here anytime' signs.
I'm looking to rent a basement as mentioned above (or bedroom as mentioned above) with everything included in the monthly rent amount (Example: all utilities, use of common areas like kitchen and laundry room, good working washer and dryer in the home, good working central AC (no window units & no swamp coolers) throughout the entire home (& basement) and good working high speed secured Wi-Fi Internet). In addition to me providing / buying my own food, I would make sure I also provide / buy my own laundry and bathroom supplies.
I would make sure I have verifiable renters’ insurance in place for the basement (and/or room) by the time I move-in through my insurance company.
I do not smoke cigarettes or 420; however, I am 420 friendly meaning anyone else in the home who smokes 420 or cigarettes, I would ask that they smoke outside. I am not a drinker and not a partier. I am of good character and integrity so, I only surround myself with people of good character and integrity and expect the same from a Landlord.
I am very quiet, clean, respectful of others things, space and property. I would expect the same from my Landlord.
During my off days when I'm not working or when I'm not involved with my home Church, I'll be watching lots of movies, having fun with my Jeep driving throughout all of Colorado, repairing computers (laptops and desktops – Windows only – No MACs), building websites, painting beautiful landscapes on canvas using watercolors (I always protect the floor beneath my painting easel stand), making professional movies, working out, studying / training in Martial Arts, plus, I'm a huge coffee drinker.
