SUMMARY: As Supervisor of the night shipping department your efforts will help increase operational efficiency and impact customer satisfaction and retention by accurately pulling product and safely loading trucks. This position performs a variety of functions that may include pulling orders, developing efficient delivery routes, fielding customer phone calls regarding delivery times, coordinating customer delivery requests with all departments, and leading a team of 4-8 members. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:
Prepares orders/shipments and ensures orders are protected from damage during transport or unloading by:
Pulling materials and/or assembling customer orders from stock and places orders on pallets or shelves, or conveys orders to packing station or shipping areas
Packing or re-packing boxes, palletizing orders, bundling and/or banding pipe, shrink wrapping pallets/crates
Meeting customer's specifications
Verifying identifying information and quantity and condition of items
Promptly completing shipping documents
Loading trucks by:
Analyzing delivery routes, box, pallet, and materials sizes, customer location, customer preference for efficient, effective, and safe handling, transport, and unloading of deliveries
Installing protective devices, such as bracing, padding, strapping to prevent shifting or damage to items being transported and unloaded
Maintains safe and clean work environment by:
Inspiring, ensuring and enforcing Rampart's safety program
Resolving site safety issues with Safety Coordinator
Supporting and facilitating safety education
Taking ownership for creating a safety culture by modeling and instilling it in staff
Keeping shelves, pallet area, and workstations neat; remove debris, sweep, dust and mop.
Maintaining clean shipping supply area (cleaning as you go)
Assists in organizing warehouse and work area for orderliness at all times
Wearing the proper safety equipment
Ensuring supplies and equipment are in good condition
Complying with procedures rules, and regulations
Reporting any unsafe conditions to your supervisor
Ensuring and maintain security of the building at night

Identifying product by size, type, style, color, or product code
Organizing and sequencing work taking into consideration a multitude of factors (warehouse layout, customer specifications, delivery route optimization, delivery site challenges, etc.)

Operate a computer and other technology to enter records and maintain accurate inventory (barcode/scanning device)
Interprets a variety of documents (work orders, purchase orders, shipping orders, etc.) to determine items to be moved, gathered, distributed, packed, or loaded
Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American weight measurement, volume, and distance
Understand and follow detailed written or oral instructions
Operate a forklift, pallet jack, hand truck and other equipment utilized in the warehouse
Familiarized with operating several types of vehicle transmissions and the ability to operate them
Utilizing current warehouse logistical systems (TWL) and processes and procedures

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Clean driving record; required
5+ year experience in warehouse operations and logistics
High school or equivalent
Intermediate to advance knowledge and usage of warehouse management systems (such as SX.e, TWL). (Preferred)


PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND ABILITIES:
Continuous standing, walking, repetitive use of hands and arms, grasping, lifting 10 lbs or less
Frequent bending over, reaching overhead, crouching, kneeling, pushing or pulling and lifting over 10 lbs to 75 lbs
Frequent carrying/moving up to 75 lbs.
Occasional sitting, crawling, climbing, balancing, and lifting 76 lbs to over 100 lbs
Occasional carrying/moving over 75 lbs
Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception

ENVIRONMENT:
Requires activities involving being around moving machinery, exposure to changes in temperature (seasonal), and exposure to dust, fumes and gases
