This Leica camera is a true piece of photographic history. Whether you're a collector, a photographer, or someone who appreciates fine craftsmanship, this camera deserves a place in your collection.
This is a vintage Leica DRP Ernst Leitz Wetzlar camera IIIf, serial number 555406. It is a classic piece of photography history, with a sleek black vintage leather case and a sturdy build. While the camera is in mint condition, but has been stored for some time now, and the shutter seems a bit slow. However I am only the secoend owner of the camera since the early 1980's. I ran some film thru it back then, and exposures were just fine.
According to a Leica collector data base, the serial number says it was from a run in 1951. It has the Leitz Wetzler Summitar 5cm(50mm) f2 lens serial number 858270(also 1951), that originally was sold with the camera. Included in this package the original velvet box w/matching serial numbers, leather case, folding lens shade, lens cap, film cassettes, original manual, flash guide, flash mounting adapter, & a glassine envelope from a camera shop in Munich. Please study the photos. With some TLC from a qualified tech, the camera should function as new.
