Veterinary Technician Assistant needed full-time at Colorado Canine Orthopedics. While prior veterinary experience is preferred, we are willing to train someone who loves the practice as much as we do. We are a rapidly growing, state-of-the-art specialty hospital, specializing in orthopedic surgery. Our practice includes 6 board-certified orthopedic surgeons. Colorado Canine Orthopedics is a prestigious well-known practice; providing surgeries such as TPLO (Tibial Plateau Leveling Osteotomy), THR (Total Hip Replacement), elbow and shoulder arthroscopy, fracture repair and neurosurgery. Our Veterinary Technician Assistants are a vital part of our team; working closely with the technicians and doctors to ensure that each patient receives the highest quality of care

Assistant duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Surgery: Gowning in surgeons and technicians, helping position patients in surgery, handing off instruments, hooking up equipment in surgery, turning over surgery tables, etc.
• Radiology: Assisting nurses with patient positioning, filling in the radiology log assisting nurses with induction of patients, scrubbing epidural site and doing a pre-surgical scrub, cleaning radiology room at the end of each day, setting up patients for recovery.
• Pack prep: Efficiently & accurately cleaning and preparing instruments for sterilization, maintaining equipment, performing spore tests on autoclave and E.O. loads, cutting and folding drapes and towels, etc.
• Treatment: Help with restraint of patient for catheter placement and injections (pre-medication, Cefazolin), cleaning cages, taking trash and recycling out, stocking and cleaning all locations, running blood work, cut and folding drapes for Pack prep as needed, etc.
