Do not forget these folks will lie to you for the right price! Threats of no services; What are they going to shut down the police and fire stations? Not a snowballs chance in hell! In this time of reduced funds, they are already wasting your tax dollars to go after medical marijuana. Thats right, the city wants to shut down medical pot, even if they don't approve of it, they are duty bound to protect the rights of the voters! This is a crime on be half of city management to go against the will of the people of this state! Illegal pot is one thing (pretty much a victumless crime) and medical marijuana is quite another. People that are on their death bed now have a choice of very strong and very addictive narcotics or medical pot. I would much rather that they spent money to go after murders, rapist, thiefs and even traffic offenders. This reminds me of the government bailout of big companies that still give huge bonuses after the bailout. Plain and simple, they need to learn how to manage what they have before we give them more to abuse. Now they want to double property tax, which will hurt the poorest first. Without even considering pay cuts to their staff, everyone where I work has taken a pay cut to keep us in business! This city is really doing a poor job as far as getting the priorities straight when it come to management of the people money. No other solutions have came from our leaders (the blind leading the blind) They want to win the battle by stepping on the poorest of the poor first, then the elderly.
