It seems that I was supposed to call bullshit when you were trying to play the blame game. Be it your Mom, Washington State, or the men in your life (especially your son's Dad), I listened and offered sympathy. A bit too often, I now realize (how many hours have you spent bending my ear, bitching about Miss Murphy?). Yes, some of the occurances in your life have been un-fair, but really, who can't say that? So why should it be so hard to tell you this? You are terribly defensive. That you can't (or won't) see that you alone are responsible for most of your circumstances means that you're going to have a truly difficult time getting past your grievances. Whether you care to hear it or not, you have been given some gifts that the average person would kill for. This world (part of it, anyway) could be yours. Don't think your looks give you an advantage? Think again... (you said it yourself - sometimes you can be a bit vain). You are fairly smart (though you have to be the least intuitive/empathetic female I've ever met) You're capable of getting what you want - if only you'd stop thinking that others are out to sabotage/ruin your dreams. Really, I don't think they feel that great of a need. I know that you do try to understand the deeper meanings in life, and while most could use a broader veiw, I hope that you discover the value of a deeper understanding of what you have investigated.
So, despite the realization that we're very different (no chemistry, though? Remember what you felt as I walked to my rental car to drive to the airport?), I fell in love with you, and mostly over the phone and through our emails - when has that ever happened to you? I've waited my entire adult life to feel this, and I let you know what I was willing to do to be with you. You wanted a fairytale, but it seems that you forgot that there's always a villian in these things. The villian here was your fear of being vulnerable. With what has happened in your life, I do understand. But you have to realize that if you keep raising the walls, you'll never get rescued.
Now I'm faced with the task (what, another one?) of some how getting rid of these feelings. I've been working on it for a couple of months, but am shocked at just how hard it is. What a waste of an emotion that is all too rare in this world. I have to wonder if someday, you'll ever fall in love. From what you've told me, you never have, and I do know how much you long for it. I DO hope for you to ultimately find happiness, but I'd not be entirely truthful if I didn't say that a small part of me wishes that you someday find out first-hand what it feels like to actually work your hardest to get someone, and not succeed. But no, all I can do is release this out there and hope for...
