I know I would love the chance to care for her children but I also know that its not easy to pick someone to care for them and know that your choice was the right one. I have heard way to many horror stories so I can understand her and her husband wanting the right choice for there chidlren. I Have three children myself and would worry about leaving them I could not leave them with just anywhone. Of course sending a message with low rates is nice I am sure yall can agree with that but just because the rates are low doesnt mean your the right person. I think ppl need to back off of her and understand if any of you that are trying to get the job caring for her children have children of your own you would know that its not easy to find the right person, Have a beautiful day and please give her a break!!!

I just read a few posts that said people who work for $600 are charging too little and will get burned out etc... Ummmm... I babysit a three year old and his eight year old brother Monday from 10-8:30 and Tuesday all day and overnight until Wed at 4:30 Thurs 5:00 to 4:30 and alternating Fridays and Saturdays (Fridays 5:00 am to 4:30 pm and Saturdays 5:30 am to 11:30 am). I do this for $600 a month. These two boys are a member of my family. They got gift for gift with my two kids (2 years and 6 weeks). They were at our home with their mom on Christmas day. They opened gifts beside my kids and ate dinner with us. We love them like they were our own, All for $600 a month. When we go out to eat we take them. We feed them all three meals a day on some days (except for school lunch for the older one). We keep the older one when school is on delay or out or when he is sick. We keep the boys on days that are not ours for no extra charge when mom needs a break or is sick. When mom was in the hospital we picked the kids up and kept them the entire time she was in their. When the boys are sick we keep them. We do NOT demand mom leave work and get them. Even on Tuesday nights when she gets off work at 8:00 and could come get them for the night we keep them so that they don't have to get up at 4:30 in the morning on Wednesday mornings. Sick or not! NO EXTRA CHARGE! We don't ever ask for more money than the $600 a month. We love the boys and while we can't watch them for free we watch them out of love for children and specifically them! We found this family on craigslist and have been watching them since August. They have their own room in our home (when we moved we got a three bedroom apartment just for them). We have had several field trips to the zoo, pool, park, etc. The kids have access to crayons, paint, playdough, paper, etc at any given moment. We work with the three year old on ABC's, counting, colors, etc while he is with us. We help the eight year old with his homework daily. His teacher at school knows us as well as she does his mom.
I am CPR/First Aid Certified above and beyond. I am a Paramedic/EMT. We are also foster parents. We have sat for MANY people and have MANY references who can tell you that we are good folks and we care about the kids we watch! I have four children of my own, hubby has two and we have two together. Not all of them live with us anymore but we are MORE than qualified, not just some people who decided to watch kids because we can't hack it out there with a real job! We love kids. Flat out.

Just because people don't charge a fortune does NOT mean that they aren't quality caregivers or don't take good care of the kids! . When I was working full time he stayed home with our two year old and ran his own business from the house. He had the majority of the care for the boys. Now that I am home with my infant we both take turns with the kids, potty training, cooking, cuddling, etc. Like I said, these boys are treated JUST like our kids. All for $600 a month!

BTW the reason I have not applied for this position with this mother is because she is looking for a specific part of town and I am not very near to there. My boys we have been keeping are moving to be with their dad and it is killing us that they are leaving (out of state). We are looking for new little ones to watch. They will be treated JUST like the boys are. They will be a part of our family Kids deserve that! We probably won't charge more than the $600 for anyone else either! Of course it depends on what age and such but we don't feel like we have to pay our rent with this! We feel like parents need some of the money they make to pay their OWN bills! :)

And yet she didn't pick you. See what I mean? I am not wrong simply because YOU offered a lower rate to her, because if you re read my post #1 I am trying to HELP her so she can get more traffic, and #2 I said MOST and DIFFICULT, not ALWAYS and NEVER.
She's wanting a low price, you say offered it (which is RARE!!!) and then she reposts again? Did she even interview you? Unless, you JUST e mailed her now after she reposted, something doesn't smell right to me. And btw, when you listed rebuttal, you listed YOUR experience and what you will do with her child. It almost sounds like you are HER or a friend of hers, because that's not something one would state in a normal "rebuttal" to a statement I made to her asking her to give the amount she can afford so that those interested can contact her. AND I said it would be difficult for her and she isn't going to find much less, that doesn't mean NO one will offer a lower rate, just that it'll be really difficult. People do a lot of desperate things when they cannot get business, and as a parent, if you were offering to take my two kids for $600/month FULL TIME m-f , I would question why someone would want that amount of hours to work at a mere $75 per week for a child? That's $15 per day for a FULL work day and one of them is only 2 yo? She needs someone RELIABLE and I am sorry, but I cannot believe that a provider, no matter how good their intent, would accept this little and not get burnt out or resent it later on. Maybe she is seeing that too. Who knows? But something isn't right, here.

Can you please e mail me what you feel is a reasonable rate? I think that for two kids, full-time $800 per month is pretty reasonable, as most people would ask $500 per month for one child. What is your take on this? You won't find much less from anyone. Even unlicensed care will be difficult to find if you go less than this amount. Maybe you should post what you can afford, so that those who ARE interested might be able to respond faster and you can start interviewing. good luck

Out of safety for my children I am going to investigate the person I am considering to watch them. The first thing I do when talking to someone about childcare after I have their email is look them up on myspace and facebook because I believe you can put all the lovey stuff you want on your ad on CL and say you are mature and whatever you want but on myspace and facebook its probably more the real you. Your constant swearing in your status' and talking about piercings and tattoos and getting your "downstairs" pierced doesn't really speak well for you. You would definitely not be my choice for childcare because you don't really come off like you would be a good influence on children. Children are very impressionable and even when you think they are not listening or not paying attention to something, they are, and it will likely be repeated.

I am a grandmother and mother at heart - I know bringing your children to a caretaker is a hard thing to do and most of you wish you could stay home with your children, but it is just not an option for some.

I am LDS and do not smoke or drink alcohol. Nor do I have any teenagers living in my home.

I don't allow the children to sit in front of the television all day. Instead we will play outdoors when the weather permits, take walks and go to the nearby park. I have a fenced front yard so that the children can play safely outside and are observed as I am outside with them!.

I have a play area in the living room. I think that learning starts early so we do a lot of reading, drawing, and counting. I like to do activities that teach the children while being fun at the same time. And also a large yard with various riding , climbing and fun toys!

I have been Children and Adult CPR certified >>>>First Aid for Children and Adults.

I also have been CBI checked for caring for foster children for my daughter when she needs a break or takes a mini vacation!

I have excellent references from Local and Colorado Springs Police Officers I have worked for many times. Also references from previous Parents and Church Members! My recent care was for a captain at Shriver Air Force base and a captain at Securities at the Air Force Academy i n Securities ( Now deployed)

I try to be flexible with hours as I know work schedules can vary. I live near several elementary schools and I will provide before and after school care in Palmer Lake, the bus stops very close to my home!

My hours are from 6 A.M. to???? whenever you get here. Your safety is my concern also, during bad weather and icy, snow weather.

I will dedicate myself to your children while they are here with me and treat them as if they are my own. You can feel secure knowing your child is having fun learning, playing and most importantly, that they are safe and protected while you are at work.

We are looking for someone who can take this job seriously. You must be experienced working with multiples and toddlers. Our girls are everything to us. Therefore, we will do a background check and check references. Our girls are very attached to us, and it takes awhile for them to get use to other people. You must be patient with them. You must have a phone so that we can contact you if we need to while you are watching the girls. We do not have home phones only cell phones, so we will need to get a hold of you. I am a 25 year old mother of a 3 year old boy, and I am offering New Years Eve care in my home. I have watched children for 12 years and have a lot of experience with all ages of children. I have many references available upon request. We have a large home, so there is plenty of room to play and sleep. We will play games, do crafts, watch movies, have pizza for dinner (or you can send something different for your child if you'd like) and just have a nice New Years Eve while you are out having fun. I am offering childcare from 6PM-10AM, but I can be flexible if you need additional hours.

You are more than welcome to come to our home sometime before New Years Eve to meet us and see our house and I have attached a picture to help you put a face to us. Please email me with any questions you may have, and to decide on a rate that works for both of us.

I am sorry this happened to you. I don't know if you'll have much luck pressing charges, because you didn't see her do it. :( The cops will likely argue that if anyone at any other time was in your home, there's no proof it was her. This happened to a friend of mine, and it's just awful. She never recovered the money and the person we are all sure did it, got away with it. I don't know where you live, but if you are close to Southern C/S, you are welcome to drop off your child with our family for date nights because I am sure you'll feel uncomfortable with a person in the home again. Just e mail me at the above link and I will give you my info. I no longer let people in my house because of things like this (just so you know, lots of caregivers are GREAT and still are thieves!) You can't trust anyone. Anyway, I have been background checked, etc and am licensed, so you have an idea of who you'll leave your baby with.
